Record Store Day celebrations 10:00 am - 5:00 pm on 22/04/2017

Heritage Quay celebrates record collecting culture!

We’ve got loads on this year for Record Store Day. First up, we are once again teaming up with the School of Computing and Engineering to give groups the chance to record and take home their own 7″ single with Cutting a Record II 10am-5pm. Book your FREE recording slot here https://cuttingarecord2.eventbrite.co.uk and see what happened last year here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgMiyajbQm8

We’re also running a free workshop making Tote bags 12-1pm or 1-2pm. To make your custom tote shopper for vinyl purchases (with padding to keep those purchases safe) book your free place here https://recordshopperworkshop.eventbrite.co.uk

We also have drop in activities 11am-4pm creating origami record sleeves and vinyl shelf dividers, all for free. There’s no need to book for these, just come along on the day.

Cutting a Record II details
On the day you’ll get the chance to record up to 3 minutes of whatever you want. You might have a favourite tune you and your band want to record, or just want to capture a poem or conversation with your friends or family – we don’t mind! When the recording is done, our expert will hand-craft it for you whilst you wait and you can work on your artwork.

Groups must be between 2-5 people and instruments (guitars, bass, keyboard and drums) will be provided so please don’t bring your own kit. Please arrive at Heritage Quay 5-10 minutes before your slot – the whole process should take a minimum of an hour (longer if spend more time creating the artwork)

Places are extremely limited so make sure you book your spot here: http://cuttingarecord2.eventbrite.co.uk.
