This event is for women and gender minority participants only.

Relax-Sing for Wellbeing is a participatory workshop on relaxation through the art of Indian singing.

You will be guided through relaxation techniques, transformative breath work, vocalisation and mindfulness, accompanied by the shruti box and electronic tanpura (drone). Discover the health benefits of singing for the mind and body, and reset yourself to calm.

The session is led by Satnam Galsian, a British-Asian vocalist based in Leeds. She currently performs with her band Kinaara, where the primary focus is on exploring the interplay between Punjabi folk, North Indian and western music traditions. As well as performing both in solo and collaborative capacities, Satnam delivers various community-based programmes that promote health and wellbeing through music.
