This January come and experience the wildest and most extreme music in Huddersfield. Think you’ve heard it all in the classical world? Are anvils and helicopters passé? Then join staff at the University of Huddersfield’s Heritage Quay to investigate some of the loudest, oddest and weirdest sounds of 20^th Century British classical music at their ‘Hardcore Classical’ event. Drawing on the unique British Music Collection and the archive of the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, the team are dusting off the vinyl and cassettes from the archives for a playlist of the loudest, oddest and weirdest British compositions of the past 100 years – the results will blow your mind. There will be unique and hilarious challenges and strong brews to steady your nerves.
