*Advance tickets for this event are now sold out*

Additional drop in slots are available on the day at 10.40, 11.20, 12.30, 13.50 and 15.30.
You can book one of these slots in person at Heritage Quay from 10.00 on the morning of the 16th April. Any further slots which become available due to cancellations will be advertised at www.twitter.com/heritage_quay and www.facebook.com/HeritageQuay and must also be booked in person.

Heritage Quay and the University of Huddersfield School of Computing and Engineering are giving you the chance to record and take away a limited edition (one copy!) 7” recording. Inspired by the thousands of vinyl records in the archive (some of them almost 100 years old) we want performers to have a go themselves.

On the day you’ll get the chance to record up to 3 minutes of whatever you want. You might have a favourite tune you and your band want to record, or just want to capture a poem or conversation with your friends or family – we don’t mind! When the recording is done, our expert will hand-craft it for you whilst you wait and you can work on your artwork.

Groups must be between 2-5 people and instruments (guitars, bass, keyboard and drums) will be provided so please don’t bring your own kit. A vocal coach will be on hand to give tips prior to recording and talented engineers will make you sound great. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your slot – the whole process should take a minimum of an hour (longer if spend more time creating the artwork)

Places are extremely limited so make sure you book your spot here: http://cuttingarecord.eventbrite.co.uk. Some additional slots will be available on the day on a first-come, first-served basis so don’t worry if we sell out. We’ll post further instructions closer to the time so you know what to do if you don’t have a ticket
