Scholes Monahan Archive
This family archive mostly covers the period of the 20th century, collected by Ruth Monahan. Material relates to Ruth's life and family history: both the Monahans (her father) and the Scholes' (her mother). Members of the family were of the Methodist faith, and some carried out missionary work. Ruth travelled widely and recorded her experiences through diaries and photographs. The family was based in Yorkshire and Lancashire

These papers were either produced or collected by Ruth and relate to her mother Katherine (nee Scholes) and father's (Alexander Monahan) families. There are larger collections for her parents and notable papers relating to her uncles including E.F.P Scholes (SMN/FP/3/1) who undertook missionary work in China.
