    Roger Lynch slide collection Item

    1970s
    Slides given to Nick Brook of Huddersfield & District Archaeological Society by Roger Lynch. Usage of the slides should be credited to Roger Lynch.
    Most are undated.
    Box 1 - 64 slides including Roche Abbey and many Scottish subjects at Kilberry and Dun Gragach fort near Loch Sween in Argyll. Many labelled.
    Box 2 - 88 slides, some industrial and also Castle Sween in Argyll.
    Box 3 - 48 slides mostly industrial.
    Box 4 - 91 slides including Housesteads fort and Vindolanda. Some dated 1977.
    Box 5 - 76 slides including many abbey ruins and Monk Bretton Priory.
    Box 6 - 78 slides including Steeton Hall and Sandal Castle. Some dated 1976.
    Box 7 - 82 slides including a police box in Almondbury, Lowther Castle, Tintagel, Ladybower, and Brougham Castle. Some dated 1977.
    Box 8 - 8 unlabelled slides of mosaics (probably Aldborough).
    Box 9 - 39 slides including carved stones at Baluachraig, some cottage interiors, and Dunstaffnage Castle.

    Framed award certificates from the British Archaeological Awards 2004:
    Mick Aston Presentation Award - winner
    Institute for Archaeology Award - highly commended
    Both awards were made for the Myers Wood Project, and were awarded jointly with the Department of Archaeological Sciences, University of Bradford.

    Huddersfield & District Archaeological Society: reference material - box 3 of 3 Item

    1965-1978
    Kirklees Advisory Panel for Archaeology KAPA

    This is a bound volume of reports covering the years from meeting No. 1 in 1976 through to one, No. 28 dated 26th June 1980. At meeting 29 which produced report No. 28 an intention was stated that the next meeting was scheduled for the 16th October 1980 and thereafter the group would meet every two months on the third Thursday.
    It is not known if KAPA continued and for how long.

    21.01.1976 Inaugural meeting to review archaeological and historic society activities in Kirklees.
    19.02.1976 Report No. 2 agrees the KAPA title and reviews the Interim Report on the Archaeological Implications of Development published January 1976 and bound into this volume.
    15.06.1978 Report No. 25 considers the formation of a new Local Studies Workshop to encourage an interest in local studies.
    21.09.1976 Report No. 26 announced that the inaugural meeting of the Huddersfield Local History Workshop was scheduled for 27.09.1976.

    1975 - a Schedule of Buildings...of special architectural or historic interest within Kirkleees. By Kirklees MBC Planning Division of the Directorate of Architecture, Planning & Development. Approx. 112 un-numbered pages, in 4 parts.
