Huddersfield Musical Theatre Company
Formerly the Huddersfield Amateur Operatic Society. This archive contains a large number of varied materials associated with the Huddersfield Amateur Operatic Society. Historical primary sources include newspaper articles concerning the founding of the association and its members, and photographs of cast members in costumes (mainly found in MTC/2). There is a series of video cassettesof performances for reference and many 'unusual' items such as dolls, badges and ribbons.

As well as primary materials there is a wide selection of financial and administrative documents to be found in MTC/1 and many secondary materials such as script books and general theatre books in MTC/2 and MTC/6.

    Administrative Records Subfonds

    This series contains administrative records of the society, including decision making through minutes, a cast register for performance, and general correspondence about society business and putting on performances.

    Production Records Subfonds

    This series contains production files, which contain a copy of the programme, any press cuttings or cast photograhs. There are also scripts and orchestrations relating to different sets of procdctions.

    Publicity Subfonds

    This series contains publicity records for the society, in the form of postcards advertising productions, photographs of casts in costume and reference videos of productions.

    Memorabilia Subfonds

    This series contains memorabilia of ribbons and badges given to cast and crew to show they were part of the production. It also contains dolls that may have been used as props or small scale costume samples.

    Awards Item

    NODA awards for the society's production, some regional and some national. All items are framed certificates for programme competitions that HAOS has won. Each one is for a different production.
