Rugby Football League Board archive – cataloguing grant

The Service has received an award of £34,948 under the 2013 round of the National Cataloguing Grants Programme for Archives.

This funding will employ a Collections Access Officer for  12 months to catalogue the archive of the Rugby Football League Board.  We will recruit the Officer alongside the HLF project Collections Access Officer for which the interviews will be held on Thursday 5th December.

The programme is funded by a collective of charitable trusts and foundations including the Pilgrim Trust, the Foyle Foundation the Wolfson Foundation and, for the first time, the Andrew W Mellon Foundation.  The University is delighted to receive support from these organisations.

Grants to the value of £526,000 were given to fifteen projects identified as “having the greatest transformative effect on particular areas of research, on the services involved and on their users.”  A full list of the projects and other information about the programme is available on the National Archives’ website.
